Hla-Hla (Rosie) Thein, MD, MPH, PhD, is an Assistant Professor at the Dalla Lana School of Public Health, University of Toronto. Dr. Thein is an investigator at the Ontario Institute for Cancer Research Health Services Research Program and an Adjunct Scientist at the Institute for Clinical Evaluative Sciences. Dr. Thein received her Doctorate in Clinical Epidemiology/Public Health from the University of New South Wales, Australia, Master of Public Health from the University of California, Berkeley, California, USA, and medical degree from the Institute of Medicine 1, Yangon, Myanmar.Her research interests include Infectious disease and cancer research, health services research using large health administrative data, evidence synthesis/knowledge synthesis, health-related quality of life and utility methods, burden of disease, pharmacoeconomic evaluation of public health interventions, decision-analytic modeling and cost-effectiveness analysis, and patients’ perceptions in the evaluation of health care.
