Dr. Qiang Liu is a senior scientist and principal investigator at the Vaccine and Infectious Disease Organization-International Vaccine Center (VIDO-InterVac), University of Saskatchewan. He is an adjunct professor of the Department of Veterinary Microbiology and the School of Public Health, University of Saskatchewan.

Dr. Liu obtained his B.Sc. and M.Sc. degrees in Microbiology at Nankai University in China and Ph.D. degree in Virology at Justus Liebig University in Germany.

Dr. Liu’s research interest is to study the molecular mechanisms regulating the replication of human hepatitis C virus and hepatitis B virus. Other research activities include HCV RNA translational control and innate immune responses to viral infections.
