University College London

I obtained BSc and MSc degrees in biochemistry from the University of Regina. Following this, I joined Prof. Luis Schang’s lab at the University of Alberta to pursue my PhD in virology. During my PhD, I characterised the antiviral mechanisms of novel viral entry inhibitors with broad-spectrum activities against many unrelated viruses, including HCV. I then undertook two years of postdoctoral training in the laboratory of Prof. Thomas Baumert at the University of Strasbourg (France), where I used functional genomics approaches to uncover novel HBV and HCV virus-host interactions. Currently, I am a postdoctoral researcher at University College London (UK), where I am evaluating the role of cyclophilins in innate immune responses during chronic HCV infection. I am supported by fellowships from CanHepC and CIHR.
